ARCHIVE
The Gino Marotta Archive is a non-profit cultural association founded in 2019.
Its mission is to safeguard, enhance, disseminate, and promote the image and legacy of the artist Gino Marotta by developing the study and reorganization of the entire body of his work and related textual and photographic documentation. This is pursued through activities of conservation, research, scholarly cataloguing, and archiving of all documents concerning the life and work of Gino Marotta, with a view to the publication of the Catalogue Raisonné. To this end, the Archive is supported by a Scientific Committee composed of scholars and art critics.
The Archive aims to become a laboratory for study and research, fostering the circulation of information also through the expansion of a substantial digital archive, partially already established. It therefore makes use of digital tools and editorial activities necessary for the updating and sharing of knowledge related to the artist.
The Archive promotes the collection, publication, and dissemination of works, writings, documents, testimonies, and any other material useful for the historical documentation and integration of information concerning the life and artistic production of Gino Marotta, such as photographs, unpublished writings, invitations, posters, and exhibition catalogues.
The Archive’s purpose is to carry out the complete cataloguing of the artist’s works. To this end, it records all known works and examines those not yet archived in order to include them in its records.
The Archive’s documentation may be consulted for study and research purposes by appointment.
